Tippecanoe Youth and Children's Choir is led by twin sisters Amy Weaver and Wendy McNiven. Amy and Wendy grew up in Northern California and studied piano and voice from an early age, participating in multiple vocal groups.
Amy and Wendy attended Brigham Young University, where they were accepted into both the Vocal Performance and Piano Performance programs. Ultimately, both graduated with degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. While at BYU, both sang in the acclaimed BYU Singers, traveling with the choir to England, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Ghana, Benin, and throughout the United States including a concert at Carnegie Hall.
For nearly twenty years, Amy and Wendy directed various local and regional church choirs, taught piano lessons, and most importantly, devoted time to their growing families. In the summer of 2019, the McNivens moved to West Lafayette, making it possible for Amy and Wendy to fulfill a lifelong dream of leading a choir together.
